Sports massage is a targeted, results-oriented modality designed for athletes and highly active individuals. Rather than a single fixed technique, it draws from a toolkit of approaches — compression, cross-fiber friction, muscle stripping, assisted stretching, and focused trigger point work — matched to where you are in your training cycle.
Pre-event sports massage (typically shorter, 30–45 minutes) is stimulating and preparatory: warming the muscles, increasing circulation, and enhancing neuromuscular readiness without inducing the deep relaxation that would be counterproductive before competition. Post-event massage (60–90 minutes) shifts focus to flushing metabolic waste, reducing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), and beginning the recovery process.
